Dr. Vikram Karmarkar

Consultant Neurological Surgeon & Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences

Dr. Vikram Karmarkar is a senior neurosurgeon in Mumbai, with 18 years of experience, He has been associated with various prestigious hospitals and clinics. He currently works at Bombay Hospital. He has previously been associated with the National Neurosciences Centre, Kolkata. Dr Karmarkar offers neurosurgical solutions in brain and spine surgery. His special interests are in Cerebrovascular Surgery, Brain Tumor Surgery, Neuroendoscopy Procedures, Skull Base surgery and Skull Base Endoscopic procedures, and neuroendovascular procedures. He also performs spinal tumour surgery and spine surgery for degenerative disorders including slipped disc, spinal canal stenosis.

His medical education has been at various institutions like DY Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai, the Topiwala Nair hospital, Mumbai and the Bombay Hospital. Further training stints after neurosurgery qualifications included training stints in the Newcastle, England and at various centres in Japan.

He has been professionally active, with membership of learned local, national and international neurosurgical societies. He has publications in national and international Neurosurgical journals along with his coauthors. Patient oriented care and a team approach for the patient is the driving force of Neurosurgical Solutions.
